The City of New Albany will be hosting a Touch-a-Truck event at our Public Service building (7800 Bevelhymer Rd.) on Saturday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This event gives kids the chance to get an up-close look at City vehicles and to talk with police officers, firefighters and public service crews.
The Healthy New Albany Food Pantry will be collecting donation items at the event. They are going with a “T” theme in honor of Touch-a-Truck and ask that anyone attending the event bring an item from the following list:
- Tomato paste
- Tomato sauce
- Tomatoes, canned
- Tuna, canned
- Toilet paper
- (Paper) Towels
We also will be hosting a blood drive outside the Public Service building that day in the parking lot off Walnut Street. Click here to register for the blood drive. No registration is needed for the Touch-a-Truck!
Finally, Mount Carmel will be hosting a vaccine clinic inside the Public Service building from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nurses and a pharmacist will be on site to administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. There will be signage to identify the vaccination location at the Public Service building. No pre-registration is needed for the vaccine!
