New Albany City Council has approved a resolution to move forward with the construction of a pickleball facility. The project will be located adjacent to the New Albany Public Service facility and the Michael Lucey Memorial Basketball Courts at the northeast corner of Walnut Street and Bevelhymer Road.
The planned improvements include the construction of a playing area comprised of 16 pickleball courts, an adjacent parking lot with spaces for 68 vehicles, and landscape enhancements. Construction is expected to begin in early April. The City of New Albany has set a target date of mid-June for the courts to be playable.
