Major Road Closure for Market Street Extension Project Begins May 30

Market Street Extension Project to Cause Summer Road Closure on SR-605

Construction for the Market Street Extension Project is now underway and will require a significant road closure throughout the summer. Starting May 30, SR-605 (Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road) will be closed from Village Hall Road to Maplewood Cemetery to allow for the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Market Street and SR-605. The closure is expected to last until approximately August 17.

Detour Information

To help minimize disruptions, a detour route has been established for thru traffic:
➡️ Morse Road → US-62 → Dublin-Granville Road
Local traffic will still have access via Fenway Road.

Why This Project Matters

The Market Street Extension is a vital infrastructure upgrade designed to:

  • Ease existing traffic congestion in the Village Center

  • Prepare for future traffic growth

  • Improve overall traffic safety and flow

By completing this work during the New Albany-Plain Local Schools’ summer break, the City is taking steps to reduce the impact on families, students, and school operations.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important project to enhance mobility and safety in our community.
