One of City Council’s initiatives is to upgrade all City-owned and maintained playgrounds. The first playground to be upgraded is Sumption Park in The Links neighborhood. The City of New Albany has partnered with The Links HOA to install new equipment, a shade structure, seating benches and a new accessible play surface. Work will begin at Sumption Park on Monday, June 28, and the park will be closed from that date until the end of July while construction occurs. Other neighborhood playgrounds will be upgraded over the next few years to replace aging equipment, increase the variety of play opportunities and ensure accessibility to people of all abilities.
