New COTA Service Enables Expansion of SmartRide New Albany Shuttle

SmartRide New Albany, which provides first-and-last mile shuttle transportation for employees of the New Albany International Business Park, will be expanded September 4, thanks to unprecedented new service from the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA).

COTA will restore Line 35, which will run from the intersection of Boardwalk Street and Shapter Avenue in North Columbus to the Easton Transit Center with express nonstop service to the New Albany Park and Ride, 5202 Forest Drive. Line 35 will operate every 60 minutes between approximately 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. seven days a week – the first COTA line to provide such frequent service to New Albany. COTA Line 45 will continue rush hour express service from downtown Columbus to the New Albany Park and Ride.

Beginning September 4, SmartRide New Albany will run hourly between the Park and Ride and New Albany businesses. Shuttles will provide passenger pick-up and drop off service from the Park and Ride and their place of employment. More information regarding times, stops and map of COTA Line 35 can be found here. Information about Line 45 is available here.

“The new Line 35 and an expanded SmartRide New Albany will provide a boost to our businesses, their employees and the overall Central Ohio economy,” Mayor Sloan Spalding said. “Thanks to our partners at COTA, more people are able to connect to New Albany in an efficient and cost-effective manner.”
