Improvements are coming to SR 605 to address safety issues and congestion at school pick-up and drop-off times. At the March 5, 2024 meeting, City Council adopted a resolution to move forward with a construction project along SR 605 near the New Albany-Plain Local school campus.

This project will widen SR 605 between Chatham Green Drive and Kardules Fields Way to introduce a dedicated right-turn lane into the school parking lot. The turn lane will utilize all available space between these roadways to benefit the traveling public and those accessing the school parking lot. Providing the additional dedicated right-turn lane will also make the thru lane available for those bypassing the school parking lot on SR 605 and better control traffic at Chatham Green Drive where there is significant pedestrian activity.
