US 62 Overnight Closures March 22-24

ODOT’S SR 161 Widening Project will lead to some overnight closures on US 62 (Johnstown Road) March 22-24. Crews will be performing work on the overpasses that will require full closure of US 62 underneath the bridges at times between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday night (Mar. 22)/Saturday morning (Mar. 23) and Saturday night (Mar. 23)/Sunday morning (Mar. 24).

  • On Friday night, there will be a crane in the US 62 northbound lanes, which will require the complete closure of Johnstown Road northbound between the SR 161 ramps for the whole shift.
  • On Friday night, there will be a lift in the southbound lanes, which require the closure of one lane of southbound Johnstown Road all night, and four temporary closures, about 30 minutes each, of the other southbound lane while the beams are being set and stabilized.
  • On Saturday night, there will be a lift in the northbound lanes, which will require the closure of one lane of northbound Johnstown Road all night, and four temporary closures, about 30 minutes each, of the other northbound lane while the beams are being set and stabilized.
  • On Saturday night, there will be no lane closures on southbound Johnstown Road.

Detour signage will be posted as necessary. Southbound traffic will be detoured by entering SR 161 WB and exiting at New Albany Road to return to US 62. Northbound traffic will be detoured by entering SR 161 EB and exiting at Beech Road to return to US 62.

There will also be SR 161 ramp closures during the following times:

  • The SR 161 eastbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close overnight (7 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Saturday, March 23
    • Detour: SR 161 eastbound to I-270 southbound to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 northbound.
  • The SR 161 westbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Saturday, March 23.
    • Detour: SR 161 westbound to I-270 southbound to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 northbound.
  • The Hamilton Rd. ramp to SR 161 westbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, March 24.
    • Detour: SR 161 eastbound to New Albany Rd. to SR 161 westbound.
