2024 Independence Day Activities

We’re excited to celebrate Independence Day with you on Thursday, July 4! We would like to thank our partners at the New Albany Chamber for their work organizing the parade and festival. Here is a timeline of activities:

  • The New Albany Independence Day 5K will kick off the day’s events at 7:45 a.m.
  • The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and will follow a route that begins at Chatham Green Drive, travels along New Albany-Condit Road (SR 605) to Main Street, down Main Street to Dublin-Granville Road, and ends at the Church of the Resurrection.
  • The festival is 6:00-9:45 p.m. at the New Albany Middle School greenspace and includes a live band, food trucks, and various family-friendly activities.
  • Fireworks begin close to 10 p.m. and are best viewed from the areas around the school campus and Rose Run Park.
  • Independence Day activities are rain or shine; however, the rain date for the fireworks will be July 5 if necessary.

Parade

  • New Albany-Condit Road (SR 605) will be closed from Walton Parkway to US-62 from 9 a.m. until the end of the parade and cleanup – roughly 1 p.m.
  • Chatham Green Drive will experience a temporary closure during the parade.

Festival and Fireworks

  • New Albany-Condit Road (SR 605) will be closed from the north side of Chatham Green Drive to Walton Parkway from 5 p.m. to roughly 11:30 p.m. – after traffic from the fireworks has subsided.
  • Chatham Green Drive will be fully closed from 5 p.m. to roughly 11:30 p.m.
  • Access to the Windsor neighborhood will be limited to US-62 from 5 p.m. to roughly 11:30 p.m.
