But, once they start to ripen, it doesn't take long for them to wear out their welcome. When it comes time for disposal, you have a few options:
Consider backyard composting. Simply remove all candles, lighting, and decorations. Smash or cut it into small pieces and place it in the compost pile. No compost pile? Start your own by digging a hole and covering it with dirt and leaves!

The McCoy Center for the Arts will host a special community Halloween screening of Ghostbusters (rated PG) on Saturday, October 31.
