The Planning Commission hears applications for land use, zoning classifications, recommends legislative actions, reviews legislation, rules, and regulations re: city planning, land use, and zoning. Informal Meetings (I) are held at Village Hall (99 W. Main Street) the 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Regular meetings (R) are held at Village Hall (99 W. Main Street) the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

New Albany City Council generally meets at Village Hall the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. City council may hold special council meetings and workshops, as needed. They may cancel a meeting due to lack of agenda items. These will be posted on the city's website and on bulletin boards at Village Hall and the Public Service Complex. The Sustainability Advisory Board advises City Council on matters relating to sustainability, promotes and communicates sustainability principles broadly among the community and stakeholders, advises and assists City Council and city manager in efforts to make city operations more sustainable.
