The Board of Zoning Appeals hears and decides appeals regarding legislation and administrative determinations related to zoning and land use. Also hears variances from zoning area regulations and general development standards. Subpoenas witnesses, administers oaths, compels discovery as needed. Meetings are held at Village Hall (99 W. Main Street) the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

The New Albany Police Department invites kids ages 5 to 15 to take part in the first-ever "Cops and Bobbers" fishing derby! The event will be held at the Bevelhymer Park pond (corner of Bevelhymer Rd. and Walnut St.) from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 29, rain or shine. New Albany City Council generally meets at Village Hall the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. City council may hold special council meetings and workshops, as needed. The Parks & Trails Advisory Board makes recommendations regarding parks and trails to council and administration. Meetings are held at Village Hall (99 W. Main Street) the 1st Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

The Planning Commission hears applications for land use, zoning classifications, recommends legislative actions, reviews legislation, rules, and regulations re: city planning, land use, and zoning. The City of New Albany is proud to present the Preschool Party in the Park series for our tiniest residents. In August Learn, Sing and Grow joins us to create music and move our bodies. All programs take place in the Library Garden and are free to attend. Content is geared towards younger kids, but all are welcome to attend. Parents must remain with their children.
