Josh Poland was hired in 2020 as New Albany’s public information officer before being promoted to the role of chief communications & marketing officer in 2023. During his time with the City of New Albany, Josh has worked to enhance the City’s digital communication efforts through video, social media, website, and e-newsletters.
Additionally, Josh launched an internal communications plan that includes monthly newsletters to employees and staff recognition events. He is also responsible for producing New Albany’s printed direct mail communication, creating marketing materials, preparing talking points for City staff and elected officials, and serving as liaison to key community partner organizations.
Prior to joining the City of New Albany, Josh served the City of Dublin, Ohio, as a public information officer for four years. He previously worked in television news for 12 years as a meteorologist, news reporter and anchor at 10TV in Columbus, Ohio, KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and WLIO-TV in Lima, Ohio.
Josh is a 2003 graduate of Ohio University. In addition to his role at the City of New Albany, Josh has served as the stadium voice of the Columbus Crew since 2013. He and his wife, Summer, have two boys, Silas and Samuel.
