An oversized permit is required when you move vehicles or equipment that exceed the weight, height, and/or width limits provided by the state on a New Albany roadway.

How do I obtain a Special Hauling permit?

All oversized/special permits must be obtained by applying via Oversized Hauling Permit Application and email the completed application to permits@newalbanyohio.org. If the load is traveling on state routes, we ask the applicant to include a copy of their ODOT permit in addition to the completed application.

How much does a permit cost?

There is a $75.00 application fee per permit. The fee has to be paid via check. See below for billing

How long does it take to receive an approved permit after applying?

Applications are reviewed Monday – Friday, except Holidays. The average turnaround for an approved permit is 24-48 hours. Depending on the destination, more extensive coordination might occur, causing
a longer review time.
