In 2015, Andrea and her husband Chad chose New Albany as the place to raise their family. They have three young children, two of whom attend the New Albany-Plain Local Primary School.
Andrea grew up in the “State up North” and graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Political Science and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan. She began her career in private practice and worked for a decade at the nation’s most prestigious law firms, including Jones Day in Chicago and Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis.
When Andrea moved to New Albany, she took a break from practicing law and devoted herself to her growing family and to community service. She was appointed to the New Albany Board of Zoning Appeals and was later appointed to the Planning Commission. She is currently the Council Liaison to the Planning Commission and a Council Representative on the IDEA Implementation Panel. She also serves on the boards of the New Albany Women’s Network and the New Albany-Plain Local Schools District Parent Teacher Organization for the Primary School and Intermediate School. She previously served as Council Liaison to the Architectural Review Board. In 2019, Andrea returned to practicing law and now serves as counsel at Baker Hostetler, specializing in litigation.
Andrea was elected to City Council in 2021 and is incredibly excited about the opportunity to serve the residents of New Albany. Andrea is committed to ensuring that New Albany remains the best place to raise a family. She is focused on developing amenities and programs that will connect the community. Andrea believes in the power of public advocacy and will work hard to ensure that the voices of all residents of New Albany are heard and celebrated.
