Residents of the City of New Albany and New Albany-Plain Local School District are able to stop by the New Albany Police Department 24/7 to pick up a free gun lock. According to Ohio law, it is the legal responsibility of a gun owner to safely store firearms. Remember that if a gun is in the house, always keep it unloaded, locked, as well as out of reach and sight of children. Additionally, ammunition should be locked in a separate location.
