Rose Run Park

Building Community & Connectivity

From New Albany’s Market Square and its 84+ miles of leisure trails to its pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods, New Albany prides itself on the many natural and planned amenities designed to create a sense of community that will foster connections among people and with the environment.

Transforming the “Heart of the Community"

For nearly 20 years, the City of New Albany aspired to transform Rose Run into the recreational backbone to the Village Center and “the physical, visual and emotional heart of the community,” according to the 2003 Rose Run Greenway Corridor Study.

Now, Rose Run Park physically connects people to nature, each other and all of our area community assets while preserving green space in the heart of New Albany between Market Square and the school learning campus.

Phase II

Preliminary work is beginning on Rose Run Phase II, marking an important milestone in the expansion of Rose Run Park and the creation of New Albany’s new Veterans Memorial. This long-anticipated project, located between Village Hall and the New Albany Police Department, will provide a meaningful space dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of our veteran community. The Veterans Memorial will feature a heroes walk, a contemplative plaza, a life-size sculpture that pays tribute to Gold Star mothers, and a water feature designed to create a peaceful setting for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude. The project is expected to be complete in late fall 2027. Click here to learn more.
