Shelly and Sands is the contractor for the project. On this page, you will find maps with all streets identified and the planned improvements noted.
The project is expected to be substantially completed by December 1, 2024, while minor punch work may occur in early 2025. We will be reaching out to affected residents directly as the work progresses to ensure everyone is aware of the project’s impacts in a timely manner. However, please continue to review this webpage as the project develops for the latest and most current updates.
The City of New Albany Street Improvement Project for 2024 is entering its final stages. The paving portion of the project should be complete by 10/4. Here is the schedule for the week of 9/30.
Thursday, 10/3 – Fabric and Paving Walton Parkway

The crack sealing portion of our Street Improvements Project on major arterial roads (US-62, SR 605, Smith’s Mill Road, etc.) will be performed outside of rush hour traffic to minimize traffic impacts. The work is weather dependent and subject to change.
The dates on the document are tentative, and we will update them regularly. The contractor and the City’s inspection team will also be distributing notices to the affected residents within 7-days of and 24-hours prior to the start of work. A full-time City representative will be on-site to answer any questions or receive comments and concerns. Please continue to reference the website for regular project updates.
The City’s contractor, Shelly & Sands, began with curb repair work in the Planters Grove area on July 16 (location 6 in this exhibit).The dates on the exhibit are tentative, and we will update them regularly.
