New Albany Launches New Emergency Alert System through Everbridge

The City of New Albany is upgrading how we communicate during emergencies and critical community situations. Through a partnership with Franklin County Emergency Management & Homeland Security, we are transitioning from CodeRED to Everbridge – a modern emergency notification system designed to deliver faster, more reliable alerts when it matters most.

Everbridge will be used to share time-sensitive information related to severe weather, mosquito sprays, road closures, public safety incidents, hazardous conditions, and other emergencies.

What New Albany/Plain Township residents need to know:

  • Registration takes about five minutes
  • You can choose how you receive alerts: call, text, and/or email
  • You can set your preferred contact order
  • While previous CodeRED subscribers should receive an alert notifying them of the change, they should consider registering again through the Everbridge Member Portal. This action will ensure that contact methods, message preferences, and alert subscriptions remain relevant to returning subscribers.
