This Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we’re proud to spotlight the Community Worksite Program through transition programming at New Albany High School, where students are gaining real-world experience, building confidence, and preparing for what comes next.

Through hands-on opportunities with community partners like Learning Express and the Columbus Metropolitan Library – New Albany Branch, students are developing meaningful work and life skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

It’s a powerful example of how our community comes together to create pathways for every resident to thrive.

On March 18, six new firefighters took the oath to serve, providing a boost to the future of public safety in our community.

Thanks to a $1.6 million federal SAFER Grant, these new hires will help staff Plain Township Fire Department’s second station, planned for the northwest corner of State Route 605 (New Albany-Condit Road) and New Albany Road East. As our community continues to grow, this investment will strengthen response times and ensure PTFD is prepared to meet increasing demand.
