Wreaths Across America: Honoring Our Heroes in New Albany 🇺🇸

This December, New Albany proudly joins the nationwide tradition of Wreaths Across America, a heartfelt initiative dedicated to honoring and remembering our nation’s veterans. On December 14th, volunteers and community members will gather to celebrate and lay wreaths on the graves of fallen heroes, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Three locations in New Albany will host ceremonies and wreath placements this year:

  • Maplewood Cemetery – 4585 Reynoldsburg-New Albany Rd, New Albany, Ohio 43054
📍 Ceremony at 12:00 PM, followed by wreath placement.
This is our largest and longest-standing ceremony, drawing up to 100 volunteers annually. The ceremony lasts about 20 minutes, and distributing wreaths takes approximately 90 minutes. Volunteers can park near the maintenance buildings and the loop by the large barn.

This marks the first year Founders Field will participate in Wreaths Across America, and we hope to see a strong community presence. While wreaths have already been sponsored, volunteers are still needed to help with placement and to honor the lives of those interred here.

How You Can Make a Difference
Volunteering is simple and impactful—just show up at any of the three locations and join fellow community members in honoring our local veterans. There’s no need to sign up in advance. Additionally, we encourage everyone to sponsor wreaths to ensure that each veteran’s grave is recognized and remembered. Your support directly contributes to the success of this meaningful tribute.

Why It Matters
Wreaths Across America’s mission is clear: Remember. Honor. Teach. By participating in these ceremonies, we remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation about the value of freedom. Each wreath laid is a symbol of respect and gratitude, reminding us all of the sacrifices made for our country.

Join us on December 14th to ensure every hero is honored. Together, we can make this year’s Wreaths Across America event in New Albany a powerful tribute to those who gave so much.
