Kaufman Development and the Daimler Group are building luxury apartments just west of the Market & Main roundabout in our Village Center. This project will serve empty-nesters who may want to downsize and millennials who love all the activity New Albany has to offer.
The project design is expected to produce very few new students for our schools, as there are 54 one-bedroom units and only four three-bedroom units. Because this project is considered commercial, it will generate more tax revenues for schools and other municipal services.
These luxury apartments will also generate additional foot traffic to support even more restaurants and shops in the future, something our residents have requested. Finally, they will assist our economic development efforts because access to millenials is a key driver for where companies choose to locate.
