Our public service crews are scheduled to begin the spring pumping and flushing of New Albany’s fire hydrants on May 1 with an estimated completion date of June 16. Crews will typically be out from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to flush all hydrants in New Albany (excluding private hydrants), hydrants by the Plain Township Fire Department, the Plain Township Aquatic Center and Plain Township offices. Residents may notice a brownish tint to their water after the hydrants in their neighborhood have been flushed. If so, run the water through a tap for a few minutes and it should clear.
