2024 Independence Day Activities

**UPDATE: The City of New Albany has decided to move forward with plans to launch fireworks this evening. Due to the possibility of rain, there may be the need to start fireworks earlier than normal. Please be prepared for the fireworks display to begin as early as 9:45 p.m.

We’re excited to celebrate Independence Day with you on Thursday, July 4! We would like to thank our partners at the New Albany Chamber for their work organizing the parade and festival. Here is a timeline of activities:

  • The New Albany Independence Day 5K will kick off the day’s events at 7:45 a.m.
  • The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and will follow a route that begins at Chatham Green Drive, travels along New Albany-Condit Road (SR 605) to Main Street, down Main Street to Dublin-Granville Road, and ends at the Church of the Resurrection.
  • The festival is 6:00-9:45 p.m. at the New Albany Middle School greenspace and includes a live band, food trucks, and various family-friendly activities.
  • Fireworks begin close to 10 p.m. and are best viewed from the areas around the school campus and Rose Run Park.
