New Albany Police Officer Jake Steinbrueck Honored as HSI Division 5 Task Force Officer of the Year

New Albany Police Officer Jake Steinbrueck has been named the Division 5 Task Force Officer of the Year by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Detroit! This prestigious recognition highlights Officer Steinbrueck’s extraordinary contributions to the fight against child exploitation.

Officer Steinbrueck joined the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force in 2023, bringing his expertise from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. Specializing in investigations involving dark web offenders, he quickly made a significant impact. His work was instrumental in the apprehension of a central Ohio suspect who was actively involved in the sexual abuse of children. This critical operation earned him a commendation from the HSI Special Agent in Charge in Detroit in February 2024.

Officer Steinbrueck is highly regarded across federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies for his dedication to safeguarding children. His recent honor as Officer of the Year underscores the profound impact he continues to make in this vital field.
