NAPD to Host Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics for Third Consecutive Year

Since 1981, the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) has raised more than $1 billion globally to support Special Olympics programs—providing sports training, health screenings, and community events for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.

In 2023, the New Albany Police Department proudly hosted its first leg of the Torch Run, helping carry the Flame of Hope to the Opening Ceremonies of Special Olympics Ohio’s State Summer Games at The Ohio State University. Each year, participation in New Albany has grown, and we’re excited to keep that momentum going in 2025!

Event Details:

  • Date: Friday, June 13, 2025

  • Start Location: Hinson Amphitheater parking lot (170 E. Dublin Granville Rd)

  • Arrival Time: Please arrive by 12:15 p.m.

  • Run Begins: 12:30 p.m.

  • End Location: Eagle Stadium (7600 Fodor Rd) – approximately ½ mile

  • Finish Time: Around 12:45 p.m.

The community is invited to join the New Albany Police Department as Guardians of the Flame and run or jog alongside New Albany Special Olympics athletes. If you’re unable to participate but still want to make a difference, donations are welcome—80% of funds raised go directly to support New Albany Special Olympics!
