Important Update: Temporary Pickleball Court Closures for Maintenance

We’re making your pickleball experience even better! The westernmost eight pickleball courts were temporarily closed in late June and July for essential maintenance. Work has been completed on those courts, including new surfaces, precision leveling, and fresh striping. Work on the eastern courts is scheduled to begin on August 11 and will require closures to that section of the complex.

We know these courts are a popular amenity, so we want to be clear: the western eight pickleball courts at the facility will remain open for play during the time the eastern courts are closed.

What We’re Doing

Our crews will be busy with a range of improvements, including:

  • Full Court Resurfacing: Every one of the eight courts will get a complete recoating, giving you a fresh, consistent, and grippier surface.
  • Brand New Paint and Striping: We’re applying vibrant, clear new lines that will make every game easier to call and more enjoyable.
  • Court Leveling and Surface Perfection: We’re addressing any surface irregularities, like minor scratches or small holes, and meticulously leveling out any uneven spots.
  • Fence Enhancements: We’re also making some targeted improvements to the chainlink fence, including the bottom tension bar, for improved safety and durability around the courts.

A Quick Note on Scheduling

Please keep in mind that all of this work is entirely weather dependent. Things like heavy rain or extreme temperatures could cause delays in our timeline.

We appreciate your continued patience as we invest in keeping our pickleball facility in top shape.

Looking Ahead

We truly appreciate your patience as we make these valuable improvements! For the latest updates on this project and other city news, please keep an eye on the City of New Albany’s website, weekly CONNECTS newsletter, and social media channels.
