Winter Safety Awareness Week provides the perfect opportunity for residents to get prepared for the possible impacts of snow, ice, blizzards, freezing rain, and flooding, as well as the occasional severe thunderstorms or tornadoes that may occur.
“Preparation is the key to safety during Ohio’s unpredictable winter season,” said Jeffrey J. Young, Director of Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security. “By planning ahead—checking your home heating systems, creating an emergency kit, and staying informed about weather conditions—you can help keep yourself and your family safe all winter long.”
