Incoming Snowstorm: Here's What to Know

With a potential snowstorm in the forecast this upcoming weekend, the City of New Albany would like to remind residents of snow removal procedures, ways to help the City’s Snow Warriors, and winter safety tips:

  • Please remove all parked vehicles (if safe to do so) from the roadways to allow our snowplow drivers to work efficiently during their snow removal routes.
  • Stay up-to-date with all emergency snow level information for your area at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Licking County Sheriff’s Office websites.
  • The New Albany SmartRide program will continue to run. During a Level 3 snow emergency, COTA will run with exceptions. See their updated schedule here.
    • With the cold advisory, all fares are waived for COTA from January 23 through January 24.
  • The Plain Township Fire Department recently shared winter safety tips with the community. You can view the video by clicking here.
  • The City of New Albany takes snow removal seriously, and our Snow Warriors work tirelessly to keep the roads safe to travel. Learn more about the mechanics behind the snowplows with this informational video.
