NAPD Offers Free RAD Women's Self Defense Classes

This class is currently postponed until further notice.

Statistically, one in three women will experience some form of sexual assault during their lifetime. New Albany police officer Leland Kelly and probation officer Amy Boyd will lead a free RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) self-defense class to help girls and women (from teens to seniors) protect themselves and learn situational awareness tips to reduce the potential for being put in defensive situations. The Spring 2020 class will meet four times (April 14, 16, 21 and 23) from 6 – 9 p.m. It would be a fun class for moms and daughters to take together and great for college students. The class size is limited to 25 participants. Registration ends April 10. To register, email Officer Kelly at lkelly@newalbanypolice.org.
