The City of New Albany is exploring resident interest in potential streetscape or roadway improvements within the Cedar Brook subdivision. The plan would include all roadways located within the neighborhood and all improvements would be installed within the existing right-of-way in Cedar Brook.

Public engagement for this project included:

• An online resident survey where the city received 61 completed surveys from the 74 homes. Survey results can be found here: Cedar Brook Online Survey Results
• A public open house held at 7775 Walton Parkway on Monday, August 31^st where the city had approximately 70 residents in attendance. This open house provided an opportunity for residents to review initial Proposed Street Concepts for Cedar Brook Subdivision informed by survey feedback, ask questions, and share their preferences.

The project is still in the exploratory phase, and no decisions have been made about improvements beyond planned roadway resurfacing. Regardless of whether the City moves forward with additional streetscape or roadway-related improvements, the Cedar Brook neighborhood is scheduled to be repaved in 2026.

The City will consider the survey feedback and input gathered at the open house, before determining whether to move forward with any additional improvements. The plans under consideration do not include connecting any existing dead-end streets in Cedar Brook to a neighboring subdivision.

If improvements are made, the City will fund the project from various existing capital funds and does not plan to levy any additional property taxes or assessments for the potential improvements.
