Market Street Extension Project Opens Dec. 19

The Market Street Extension is scheduled to fully open to traffic on Friday (Dec. 19) after 9 a.m., providing a seamless connection from Market Street to US-62. The project is designed to reduce congestion, improve traffic flow, and support future growth while preserving the character of the Village Center.

🛣️ US-62 Reopens: With the roadway opening Friday morning, US-62 will once again accessible between Second Street and Third Street.

🚦 New Traffic Signals: Signals at Third Street & US-62 will flash as required by law until January 6.

🟡  Northbound & Southbound Traffic: Yellow flash — motorists may proceed through the intersection.

🔴  Eastbound Traffic: Red flash — drivers must stop and yield to northbound and southbound traffic.

✅ Full Signal Operation: Beginning January 6, signals will switch to standard red–yellow–green operation.

Restoration and landscaping will continue in the spring, including the area around a new scenic overlook east of the roundabout at Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road. Developed in partnership with The New Albany Company, the area features a new water element, wetland plantings, more than 550 new trees, and expanded leisure trails.
