Green Chapel Road Phase 2 Improvements

Starting on or around May 1, 2026, the city’s contractor, Complete General Construction, will begin reconstruction of Green Chapel Road between Clover Valley Road and US-62. The project will perform a complete reconstruction of the existing county road including full depth pavement replacement, pavement widening, and the addition of curb, storm sewer, leisure trail, street trees and a traffic signal at the intersection of Green Chapel Road and US-62. The work is expected to be substantially complete and opened to traffic by December 31, 2026 with final completion slated for spring of 2027, which includes final details such as landscaping, leisure trail, and striping.

Green Chapel is currently closed to through traffic due to ongoing utility work with eastbound-only local access maintained. Local access will continue to be maintained and the project will utilize the same detour which routes motorists via Beech Road, Jug Street, and Clover Valley Road.
