Strong Financial Management Earns New Albany Three AAA Bond Ratings

The City of New Albany has received the highest possible bond ratings from the three major global credit rating agencies: S&P Global Ratings, Fitch Ratings, and Moody’s Ratings. These AAA/Aaa ratings reflect New Albany’s strategic planning, strong financial management, and long-term fiscal responsibility.

New Albany is among a select group of communities nationwide to achieve this distinction. As of June 2026, only 31 of the 636 municipalities rated nationally have earned the highest possible ratings from all three major global credit rating agencies. New Albany is one of only three municipalities in Ohio to do so.

The ratings reflect the New Albany’s exceptional financial strength and stability and can help lower borrowing costs, allowing the City to continue investing in infrastructure, public services, and community priorities while remaining a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars.
