2026 Trick-or-Treat Scheduled for October 31

The City of New Albany’s trick-or-treat will take place Saturday, Oct. 31, from 3–5 p.m., rain or shine!

Inclement Weather: There is no rain date for Trick-or-Treat.

  • Keep an eye on the forecast and prepare for the weather.
  • Wear weather-appropriate costumes, or have proper weather-gear available.

Trick or Treaters and Treat Givers

  • Trick or treat with members of your household or with a trusted adult.
  • Examine all treats for choking hazards and tampering before eating them. Limit the amount of treats you eat.
  • WALK and don’t run from house to house.
  • Look both ways before crossing the street. Use crosswalks wherever possible.
  • Be sure your parents always know where you are going to trick or treat.
  • Do not ride a bicycle because your costume might get tangled in the wheels.
  • Accept treats only outside of a home. Never go into a house.

Tips for Parents

  • Turn off house lights if you are not participating this year.
  • When buying costumes, look for flame retardant material.
  • Examine all treats for choking hazards and tampering before eating them.

Tips for Drivers

  • Slow down and be especially alert in residential neighborhoods.
  • Take extra time to look for kids at intersections and on medians and curbs.
  • Enter and exit driveways and alleys slowly and carefully.
  • Eliminate any distractions inside your car so you can concentrate on the road and surroundings.
  • Drive slowly, anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic and turn your headlights on earlier in the day to spot children from greater distances.
