New Albany – Plain Local Schools Black History Month Celebration
The New Albany Plain Local Schools Black History Month Celebration is a student-driven performance that will honor the legacy and cultural impact of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This year’s program blends music, storytelling, and movement inspired by Beyonc and selections from the Broadway musical The Wiz, connecting historic influence with modern artistry. With more than 60 students participating on stage and behind the scenes, the celebration reflects our commitment to student voice while educating and inspiring our community through the power of Black history, culture, and excellence. This year’s theme is “Homecoming”.
