The New Albany Chamber of Commerce invites the community to attend a Candidate Forum, Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the NAPLS Annex Building, 79 N. High St, New Albany, OH 43054. Hear from the incumbent and challenger for the Ohio House 4th race and the Ohio Senate 3rd District race. The event will be moderated by Adrienne Robbins, Director of Communications, Strategic Public Partners.
Doors open at 6:15pm; Candidate Forum is 6:30pm-7:30pm.
Ohio House 4th District Race
The 4th House District includes the northeast corner of Franklin County with areas such as Westerville, New Albany, Gahanna, Columbus, Blendon, Jefferson, Mifflin, Plain, and surrounding townships.
Candidates:
Representative Mary Lightbody (D) currently represents District 19 (includes New Albany) in the Ohio House of Representatives. She assumed office on January 1, 2019. Her current term ends on December 31, 2022. Representative Lightbody is running for re-election to represent District 4. She is on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022. Lightbody advanced from the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022.
Jill Rudler (R) is running for election to the Ohio House of Representatives to represent District 4. Rudler is on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022. She advanced from the Republican primary on August 2, 2022.
Ohio Senate 3rd District Race
The 3rd Senate District encompasses areas of Franklin County, including Whitehall, Gahanna, Westerville, New Albany, Groveport, Canal Winchester, the Hilltop and parts of Columbus.
Candidates:
State Senator Tina Maharath (D) currently represents District 3 (includes New Albany) in the Ohio State Senate. She assumed office on January 1, 2019. Her current term ends on December 31, 2022. State Senator Maharath is on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022. She advanced from the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022.
Michele Reynolds (R) is running for election to the Ohio State Senate to represent District 3. Reynolds is on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022. She advanced from the Republican primary on August 2, 2022.
