Community Development Application Submittal Process

New Albany provides a streamlined digital experience to move your project efficiently from concept to completion. This page serves as your central resource for preparing, submitting, and managing your Planning, Engineering, and Building projects online.

Submitting an Application

The Accela Citizen Access (ACA) Portal is your one-stop shop for managing all Planning, Engineering, and Building applications online. Designed to make doing business with us easier and more convenient, the ACA Portal allows residents, contractors, and design professionals to submit permit applications, pay fees, track real-time project progress, and schedule inspections—24/7, from anywhere.

By creating a single hub for your projects, the ACA Portal eliminates the need for in-person visits to government offices, streamlines administrative workflows, and keeps you informed at every stage from application submittal to final approval.

ePermitHub

ePermitHub powers our online document management and plan review process directly within Accela. Whether you are submitting plans for Planning, Engineering, or Building, ePermitHub allows you to upload digital plans and supporting documents directly into your application.

Once submitted, you can track the status of your review in real time, view markups as they are posted, and directly respond to comments from reviewers. By eliminating paper submittals and bringing applicants and reviewers into a single digital space, your permit reviews are completed faster, clearer, and more efficiently.
